WEIGHT AND DISORDERED EATING -
I ran a series of telesessions for two people who wanted to work on eating and weight and recorded them to make them available for others to borrow benefits* from them. We worked on a number of aspects of weight loss and eating problems. It was a diet-free zone - looking at what underlies unhealthy eating patterns rather than how to counteract them by a strict eating regime. Everyone who has ever been on the yo-yo diet treadmill will know that diets alone don't work anyway. We looked at underlying emotions, beliefs, past experiences that were driving eating behaviour and self-image.
The audios and the accompanying workbook to be available from my tapping shop, soon. If you want to be sure you know when then sign up for my newsletter or read my blog, both of which are available from the home page.
*Borrowing benefits is an EFT way of tapping and talking along with someone else and discovering how it has the knack of addressing and changing what is bothering us as well, whether or not there seems to be a direct link between the other person's issues and our own. Our unconscious minds seem to be excellent at matching up.
POST WAR-ZONE TRAUMA
One of my plans is to run a project for traumatized service men and women who have returned from war zones and are still suffering the effects of their experiences. I have not yet worked out exactly how but I feel a strong pull to doing something about this. If you would be interested in being involved in this this please contact me.
Meanwhile I am offering a very much reduced rate - £40 a session for up to six sessions - to individuals who are in this category and want to do one-to-one work with me.
I have a deep concern for what we are not doing as a society to help these suffering men and women - and for how their suffering ripples out to those around them. They are the primary victims and I know they are often in a living hell. The secondary victims are their families and friends. And the tertiary victims will be the descendants of those families and friends. I have seen this in my therapy practice - clients whose fathers were erratic, violent, unloving and who, when they reflected on it, realised that their fathers were as they were because of the treatment they had had from their own war-traumatized fathers. And so it goes on - unless we do something to stop it.
